Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 victories have been won on hardcourt

A revitalized the Russian player claimed his maiden championship for over two years with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the competition championship match.

Medvedev, a ex- top-ranked player, has endured a torrid period, managing just one match at the big events and undergoing a difficult moment at the American major.

The player's inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his service game in particular - caused him dropping out of the world's top 10 and eventually separating with long-term mentor his previous coach.

Presently training with his coach and his other coach, the tennis star has gradually advanced in the recent weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought competitive win over opponent Corentin Moutet.

This marks the player's first championship after the Rome competition and first on a hardcourt from spring of 2023.

Success also signifies Medvedev has won 21 titles at twenty-one different competitions.

"For the first time I am participating in a competition with my both daughters simultaneously, so to get a trophy is particularly special," commented tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.

"This title is in honour of my second daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I won when my first daughter her name was delivered was for her."

Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his previous six finals, including in Halle earlier this year.

His counter-punching strategy and recurring emotional displays on the playing surface had caused commentators to wonder if his skill to play at the highest level was over.

However the player has implemented adjustments in the past month, making an effort to approach the net and play positively, backed up by an improved serve.

Medvedev recovered from a deficit in the first set against the difficult Moutet, winning four of the concluding five exchanges to go ahead.

The competitors exchanged break points in the middle set before the Frenchman, bidding for his first professional championship, took control to push for a third set.

The opponent saved four early break points in a competitive third set before Medvedev won the break to that score to close out the victory.

Suitably, Medvedev clinched the title with a shot at the front of the court, with the Frenchman unable to control a volley after over two and a half hours.
