In November 2018, Steve Bannon, previously Donald Trump's chief strategist, was in the UK preparing for a speech at the prestigious Oxford Union.

The speech was disrupted by numerous protesters, and Bannon, who was due to board a flight that evening, informed Jeffrey Epstein in an email: "Activists delayed speech don't think I can make the plane we r enroute to the airport".

Epstein responded: "There. Is a Gulf Air that leaves at 9:50 with a layover in Bahrain". Bannon replied: "U r an amazing assistant".

These messages were released on Wednesday alongside more than 20,000 pages from the estate of Epstein, the deceased financier convicted of sex crimes.

The release by the House oversight committee includes an iMessage chat where Bannon's name is redacted. Media outlets managed to establish his identity by cross-referencing the dates, events, and places referenced.

For instance, Epstein discusses arranging a jet from Scotland for the unnamed individual in the messages, and offers praise their "Oxford speech". Bannon participated in the Edinburgh conference on 14 November, and delivered the speech at the Oxford on November 16.

Bannon, who is not accused of any misconduct, declined to comment on the inquiry.

'I'll make sure you're well looked after'

Bannon was one of the president's key advisers in the run up to the 2016 election and in the early days of his presidency, but resigned from the White House in 2017.

He has admitted he was producing a film about Epstein before his death and reportedly has approximately 15 hours of recordings. In a live taping of his podcast recently, he said: "We're going to publish the film, the multi-part documentary, in the coming year - early next year."

But the recently disclosed materials indicate Bannon's relationship with Epstein went further than being his biographer, with the convicted paedophile occasionally seeming to act like a aide.

A few days before the conversation in which Epstein seemed to booked a private plane for Bannon, Epstein said: "what's it like to have the most highly paid travel agent in history ".

Bannon expressed gratitude: "You are pretty good assistant", to which Epstein replied "Therapies. Excluded".

Discussing a trip to "AD" in another message, Epstein assured Bannon: "I will ensure you're well looked after."

British Affairs Mentioned in Messages

The released communications also show Bannon and Epstein talking about British political matters in 2018.

Earlier on the same day his speech at the Oxford, Bannon texted Epstein: "I became involved in the EU exit thing this day with Nigel, Boris and Mogg."

Then, in what seems like a reference to the UK prime minister, the embattled UK prime minister at the period, he continued: "They are trying to move on. may soon…"

Epstein suggested Bannon: "I think remaining as long as you can in the UK. Best-- so people see the dedication of your follow-up."

Shortly after, Epstein inquired: "Will Theresa May survive". Bannon replied: "It seems unlikely BUT the people here have little courage" and added "Johnson ; Michael Gove; Jacob Rees-Mogg; Davis - someone has to take charge".

Theresa May was finally toppled in 2019 after surviving multiple attempts of lack of support in late 2018.

A spokesman for Reform UK told media: "Nigel Farage has not been in a meeting with Steve Bannon, Jacob Rees Mogg and Boris Johnson." And there is no evidence that encounter occurred.

The US House of Representatives will decide soon on whether the justice department should make public all its records related to its investigation into Epstein, who passed away in jail in 2019.

Interest in Epstein's associations with influential individuals was renewed this week after the release of more than 20,000 documents from his archives.

A portion of those referenced Trump, who has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing. The leader was a acquaintance of Epstein's for a long time, but claims they parted ways in the early 2000s, two years before Epstein was initially charged.
